Committee hears from individual employers on their approach to remote and hybrid working

On Monday 28 April, the House of Lords Home-based Working Committee will hear from several organisations in an evidence session that will focus on the variety of approaches to remote/hybrid and office working.

The session will start at 2.15pm and can be watched live or on demand at Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 3, Palace of Westminster.

The following witnesses will give evidence:

2.15pm

  • Philippa O’Connor, Chief People Officer, PwC;
  • Lindsay Pattison, Chief People Officer, WPP; and
  • Dr Samir Attia, Chairman and CEO, SMA Worldwide Ltd.

3.20pm

  • Charlie Marchant, CEO, Exposure Ninja;
  • Luke Fay, Managing Director, Treework Environmental Practice; and
  • Steve Tellwright, People and Quality Director, Capula.

Questions will include:

  • What is your policy towards hybrid working and how has this changed over time, including in the context of a return to the office?
  • How does your approach towards working location achieve the potential benefits of collaboration, such as innovation, development of skills, and improved customer service?
  • How do you ensure your office space is suited to your attendance requirements, including capacity, facilities for meetings, and amenities for staff?
  • What data do you have on the impact of your remote and hybrid working policies on recruitment and retention? Do you highlight your approach to remote working in job adverts?
  • How do you adapt management techniques for remote and hybrid working and what training do you provide managers to implement these?
  • How is your approach to remote and hybrid working affected by your size, location, and sector and what challenges are associated with these?
  • How do remote and hybrid working impact your organisational productivity and how do you monitor this with respect to different types of work?
