Lords energy grid inquiry hears from Ofgem

The House of Lords Industry and Regulators Committee continues its inquiry into the energy grid and grid connections by hearing from representatives from Ofgem.  

The session will run from 10.30am on Tuesday 18 March and can be followed live or afterwards on Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 3, Palace of Westminster.

Giving evidence will be:

  • Eleanor Warburton, Director for Energy System Design, Ofgem;
  • Akshay Kaul, Director General for Infrastructure Group, Ofgem.

Possible topics include:

  • the role Ofgem plays in the energy system;
  • the delivery of energy network infrastructure to meet the clean power target;
  • the Government’s Strategy and Policy Statement (SPS);
  • proposals to reform the connections queue;
  • energy network price controls;
  • locational pricing;
  • Regional Energy Strategic Plans;
  • the roles and responsibilities of Ofgem, NESO and the Government in relation to energy networks.
