Tobacco and Vapes Bill considered by Lords

Members of the House of Lords will discuss the core aims of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill at second reading on Wednesday 23 March.
The Tobacco and Vapes Bill aims to create the first “smoke-free generation” by ensuring children turning 15 this year or younger can never be legally sold tobacco. It also seeks to enable product and information requirements to be imposed in connection with tobacco, vapes and other products.
Debate on the draft law
During second reading, members discuss the main topics in the bill and highlight concerns or specific areas where they think amendments (changes) are needed.
Members speaking
Baroness Merron (Labour), Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Patient Safety, Women's Health and Mental Health, will open the debate and respond on behalf of the government.
