Lords 'tidies up' Great British Energy Bill

The Great British Energy Bill had its third reading, a chance for members to make sure the eventual law is effective, workable and without loopholes, on Tuesday 25 February.
The Great British Energy Bill seeks to establish Great British Energy, as a publicly-owned and operationally independent energy company.
Third reading
Third reading is a chance for members to ‘tidy up' a bill, making small changes to ensure it is effective.
One amendment (change) was put forward ahead of third reading to require the Secretary of State to appoint an independent person to carry out reviews of Great British Energy’s effectiveness. The change was agreed by members.
