Questions

The Lords returns to business to press government on re-offending rates of domestic abusers, county lines drug trafficking, airport expansion in the UK, and a national screening programme for prostate cancer.

Bills

Members examine the Mental Health Bill and Non-Domestic Rating (Multipliers and Private Schools) Bill, continue check and change of the National Insurance Contributions (Secondary Class 1 Contributions) Bill, make further changes to the Product Regulation and Metrology Bill, and 'tidy up' the Great British Energy Bill.

Debates

The law relating to prenuptial agreements, reducing the number of British citizens being held by the Iranian regime, and the progress of the Post Office Horizon compensation scheme are all on the agenda.

The Lords continued to check and change the Mental Health Bill.

From 3.45pm in Grand Committee, work away from the chamber, members began to examine the Non-Domestic Rating (Multipliers and Private Schools) Bill.

The Lords debated the Online Safety Act 2023 (Category 1, 2A and 2B Threshold Conditions) Regulations 2025 in a 'motion to regret' put forward by Lord Clement-Jones

Members pressed the government following an urgent question on Plant Oxford site and a statement on Ukraine.

The Lords 'tidied up' the Great British Energy Bill. Plus, further checks of the National Insurance Contributions (Secondary Class 1 Contributions) Bill.

From 3.45pm in Grand Committee, the Lords considered regulations on:

  • social security benefits
  • safeguarding vulnerable groups
  • immigration and nationality fees.

The Lords pressed the government on:

  • EU relations
  • support for creative courses in higher education
  • national musculoskeletal health prevention strategies
  • releasing frozen Russian assets.

Legislation

Members made further changes to the Product Regulation and Metrology Bill.

Orders and regulations

The Lords considered the Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Act 2023 (Remedial) Order 2024 in a 'motion to regret' put forward by Baroness O'Loan.

  • reintroduction of beavers in the UK
  • affordability of rent in the private sector
  • national screening programme for prostate cancer
  • copyright and AI.

Debates
