The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill completed its final stage in the Lords, third reading, on Tuesday 11 March.

The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill aims to improve protective security and preparation across the UK by requiring those responsible for certain public buildings and venues to implement measures to mitigate the risk of physical harm and, in the case of larger premises, to reduce vulnerability to terrorist attacks.

Third reading is a final chance to 'tidy up' the bill, making small changes to ensure it is effective, workable and without loopholes.

Proposed changes

No further amendments (changes) were put forward at third reading. Members discussed the progress of the bill through it's stages in the Lords.
