Questions

Members of the Lords draw attention to energy price controls, remediation of high-rise buildings with safety defects, prevalence of female genital mutilation nationally, the UK's future defence capability, USA developments on Ukraine and foreign investment in UK press.

The Lords 'tidies up' the Non-Domestic Rating (Multipliers and Private Schools) Bill and Football Governance Bill at third reading, plus continues line by line checks on the House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) Bill at committee stage.

The Lords begins to:

From 3.45pm in Grand Committee, work away from the chamber, members continue detailed examination of the Armed Forces Commissioner Bill.

Orders and regulations

Members debate changes to certain local authority elections in England, in a 'motions to annul' put forward by Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb and Baroness Pinnock, and 'motion to regret' from Baroness Scott of Bybrook.

Tuesday

The Lords draws attention to:

  • suspension of arms exports to Israel
  • female genital mutilation
  • Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement with Cuba
  • fourth question to be determined.

Legislation

Members continue line by line checks on the House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) Bill.

From 3.45pm in Grand Committee, members consider regulations on:

  • Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 (Consequential Provisions and Modifications) Order 2025
  • Electronic Communications (Networks and Services) (Designated Vendor Directions) (Penalties) Order 2025
  • Town and Country Planning (Fees and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2025.

Wednesday

The Lords quizzes the government on:

  • USA and recent developments in Ukraine
  • UK's future defence capability
  • energy price control
  • fourth question to be determined.

Legislation

The Lords begins further checks on the Bus Services (No.2) Bill and 'tidies up' the Football Governance Bill.

From 4.15pm in Grand Committee, members continue line by line examination of the Armed Forces Commissioner Bill.

Orders and regulations

The Lords considers Lord Junt of King Heath's 'motion to approve' the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2025 and a motion to regret the regulations put forward by Baroness Hoey.

Thursday

From 3pm

Questions

The House of Lords presses the government on:

  • foreign investment in UK press
  • setting a quota for refugee resettlement
  • Official Development Assistance
  • fourth question to be determined.

Legislation

The Lords discusses the key principles and main purpose of the Employment Rights Bill.

From 1pm in Grand Committee, the Lords continues to check and change the Holocaust Memorial Bill.
