Questions

The Lords presses the government on defending the UK against hypersonic missiles, international action against climate change, mobile phone theft, and guidance on relationship, sex and health education in schools.

Members began detailed checks of the House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) Bill.

Statement

Members pressed the government following a statement on the warm home discount.

Tuesday

Members drew attention to:

  • relationship, sex and health education in schools
  • US tariffs on certain Canadian and Mexican exports
  • mobile phone theft
  • aid budget.

Urgent question repeat and statement

Members quizzed the government following an urgent question on the BBC's coverage of Gaza and a statement on Ukraine.

Legislation

Members continued to examine the National Insurance Contributions (Secondary Class 1 Contributions) Bill, considered Commons amendments to the Crown Estate Bill, and made further changes to the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill.

From 3.45pm in Grand Committee, the Lords began to check and change the Holocaust Memorial Bill.

Wednesday

Members discussed the Review of the Code of Conduct and the Guide to the Code of Conduct.

Questions

From 3pm

Members questioned the government on:

  • International Women’s Day
  • diversity of political candidates
  • access to international exchange opportunities
  • sale of Telegraph newspapers.

Urgent question repeat

Members pressed the government following an urgent question on the situation in Gaza.

Legislation

The Lords continued to examine the Product Regulation and Metrology Bill and debated the key principles and main purpose of the Armed Forces Commissioner Bill.

Thursday

From 11am

Questions

Members of the Lords focused on:

  • UK museum and gallery admission charges
  • legislation to address 'strategic lawsuits against public participation'
  • number and costs of migration to UK
  • use of phones in schools.

Urgent question and statement

Members pressed the government following an urgent question on bounties placed on Hong Kong democracy activists and a statement on Iranian state threats.

Debates

Women in science and technology and trade agreements with India and countries in Southeast Asia were both on the agenda.

From 1pm in Grand Committee, the Lords International Relations and Defence Committee's report on Ukraine was in the spotlight.
