Lords completes examination of Armed Forces Commissioner Bill

The Armed Forces Commissioner Bill has its third reading, a chance for members to make sure the eventual law is effective, workable and without loopholes, on Monday 12 May.

The Armed Forces Commissioner Bill aims to establish, and confer functions on, the Armed Forces Commissioner, and abolish the office of the Service Complaints Ombudsman.

Third reading

Third reading is the chance for members to ‘tidy up' a bill, making small changes to ensure it is effective.   

No amendments (changes) have yet been put forward ahead of third reading. Members may discuss the progress of the bill at the conclusion of its stages through the House of Lords.
