The House of Lords has today agreed a new structure and arrangements for domestic committees - those providing strategic direction and dealing with the delivery of services to members, the use of public funds and the internal working of the House.

The new structure was outlined in the report of the Leader’s Group on Governance, ‘Governance of Domestic Committees in the House of Lords’ published in January 2016. The report was debated in the Lords on 9 May, with broad support outlined for what the group had recommended.

The new structure will come into operation on 1 September.
