David Lammy, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, faces questions for the first time from the Foreign Affairs Committee next Wednesday, at 3.30pm.

Today the Foreign Affairs Committee launches an inquiry into the UK’s role in finding a resolution to the long-standing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.

The ESNZ committee has written urgently to minister for energy consumers Miatta Fahnbulleh asking her to appear at its hearing in Parliament on the 4 December, after the Government made a sudden announcement overnight of some home heating policy changes and initiatives. 

At COP29, the Prime Minister announced that the UK is to reduce its climate emissions by 81% by 2035 compared to 1990 levels. The Prime Minister was clear that he would not “tell people how to run their lives and instruct them how to behave” to meet the pledge.
