1. ALL-PARTY PARLIAMENTARY GROUPS
On advice from the Administration Committee, the Commission agreed that APPG staff passes should be withdrawn and that this category of pass should not be used in future.
2. RESPECT POLICY
The Commission discussed this item with the Chair of the Standards Committee.
3. SECURITY
The Commission was briefed by the Parliamentary Security Director.
4. FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY
The Commission agreed, subject to detailed negotiation, to facilitate the making of an observational documentary about the work of the House for broadcast in 2014; agreed in principle to commercial filming on the Commons Estate when the House is not sitting, and invited the Administration Committee to establish a process for the practical handling of requests; and noted that rationalised photography regulations would be piloted with Members in the Autumn.
5. EDUCATION CENTRE
The Commission confirmed the approach that it wished officials to take in developing options for enhanced education facilities.
6. NURSERY: GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE ANNUAL REPORT
The Commission took note of the report and agreed that it should be published.
7. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
The Commission noted a report from the Chair of the Finance and Services Committee on implementation of the Business Improvement Plan for Catering Services and invited the Committee to continue to monitor progress.
8. DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Commission/MEC will take place on Monday 9 September at 4.30pm in Speaker's House.
