Speaker's travel (2025)

In the first instance, please note that expenses incurred in the Speaker’s Office, including travel, are routinely published on our website for transparency purposes. Where costs were incurred in other currencies, the Speaker’s Office will convert them to British Pounds before publication. Owing to changing currency exchanges, some raw costs we hold may therefore differ from the converted costs published on our webpages.

Additionally, we have interpreted the timeframe of your request to be from 1 October 2022 to 1 October 2024 in this instance.

1) For every [non-regular travel] trip listed in the Speaker's expenses register, please state:
a. How much each plane ticket cost per person
b. Whether each ticket was economy, business or first class, and
c. Which airline was used.

This information is held by the House of Commons. We hold the details requested for each trip by the Speaker and his staff in this time period (csv, 5KB).

2) For accommodation, please provide:
a. the full name of the hotel/venue and;
b. the cost per person per night.

Some information is held by the House of Commons for this part of your request. We hold details of the names of the hotel or venue used in each trip (csv, 6KB). We only hold details of the cost per person per night in some instances however where this has been recorded.

3) For any other travel like taxis, again please state:
a. who the provider was and;
b. the cost.

This information is held by the House of Commons. Other travel details (csv, 316B).

4) For any subsistence/food/drinks/meals bills, please provide:
a. the name of the restaurant or provider
b. the total cost of each item claimed for and;
c. if possible, a full breakdown of the bill in each case.
