Art in Parliament
Join this special event at UK Parliament in celebration of 200 years of the National Gallery. The event takes place on 6 December from 5:30 – 9:00pm.
See a unique painting currently on display at UK Parliament. The painting, Claude, Seaport with the Embarkation of St Ursula (1641), is one of the original 38 paintings purchased by Parliament which formed the basis of the National Gallery.
The free flow event will include short talks in different parts of the Palace of Westminster. You’ll hear from a curator at the National Gallery and experts from UK Parliament's Heritage Collections and Visitor Service teams.
You can also book a Talk and Draw class at the event. This session has very limited availability. This is a hands-on art session led by National Gallery artist educators. You'll learn new ways to look, draw and creatively explore. Whether you’re a complete beginner or more experienced, you’ll experiment with drawing and collage, discovering new ways to look at historic painting. All materials provided. Suitable for all levels, no experience needed.
